Monique is a Los Angeles native. As a very physically active child she taught herself to ride a two wheel bike at the age of two and throughout her childhood she was always competing against the boys. When she was eight years old, she was watching the gymnastic Olympics and said, "I can do that!" She then taught herself to do the splits & cart wheels. This surprised her mother who then decided to enroll her in a gymnastic class and so her journey as a future professional performer began... Because of Monique's natural abilities and skills, she advanced quickly to compete as an elite Rhythmic Gymnastics ranking top ten nationally as well as winning international ''Miss Flexibility' awards. After retiring from competing, she began to study and perform dance at Santa Monica College where she fell in love with the Horton style of modern dance under the instruction of Ron Brown. Aside from the many great performances with the lovely LA Follies... some of her other accomplishments include 2014 BET awards, Lindsey Stirling's "Master of Tides" music video, Trey Songz & Chris Brown 2014 tour, Samsung Commercial with the hilarious Sam Gooden, and soon to be seen on the Dance Network's "Steady Mobbin". In the industry she is considered a specialty performer. With all of her experiences up to today she considers herself a performer that connects with all different types of amazing choreographers that create an artistic vision coming to life through movement. She now loves to perform, explore movement, and create art at every opportunity.
